"We're really humbled and grateful," said Mat, who had been made redundant from his job as a business development manager for a recycling company. Caramel Overload and birthday cake pots, cheesecakes, biscoff cookie pies and New York-style cookies are also proving popular with customers. The range of traybakes includes Smarties cookie bars, Maltesers' rocky roads and Mint Aero chocolate brownies. The tiny shop - there's standing room for around three customers at a squeeze - complements a cob shop next door. She came up with the brand and before long it was a roaring success, selling around 1,000 a week. The condition when it gets bad is life-threatening but she's a little fighter and she's doing ok," said Steffanie, who began baking at home during lockdown as a hobby. To pass the time while hanging around in hospital, Steffanie watched baking videos on YouTube. When the Sweet House Bakery opened its doors at the weekend, sweet-toothed fans couldn't get enough of the delicious array and cleared them out. Mouth-watering slices of chocolate cake, cookies and cheesecakes proved irresistible to the all-day queue at a new Arnold shop.
